When Limos Get Really Expensive

Standard

If you think limousines can’t get any more expensive, you’re sadly mistaken. After all, anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

Take the Cadillac One, for example. At roughly $300,000, the official ride of the President of the United States is more than just your average limo. Deep within the vehicle itself are features that justify its nickname “The Beast.” As it carries the leader of the world’s most powerful nation, manufacturers built the Cadillac One like a tank. Case in point: armor thick enough to withstand an RPG attack.

There’s also the Toyota Century Royal, possibly the rarest Toyota you’ll ever come across when you’re in Japan. A modified Toyota Century, this limo was designed as the official transport of the Emperor of Japan. Its expensive wool upholstery, granite entry steps, and security measures bring its total price to more than $500,000. Like the Cadillac One, it’s also built like a tank.

There’s a reason for the extra features; these cars carry world leaders on a regular basis. When you just want something to take you around DC though, you don’t need an RPG proof limo. A mini-fridge, a fully stocked bar, satellite TV, and similar awesome features are enough to make the most out of limo service.
